I got a text from "Apple" saying 'Your Apple ID has been blocked due to numerous failed login attempts. Follow http://bit.do/bvHoU to unblock your Apple ID now.' is this a scam or not I don't want to open the link in case it is

i got a text message from Apple saying "

Your Apple ID has been blocked due to numerous failed login attempts.

Follow http://bit.do/bvHoU to unblock your Apple ID now."

i am worried this is a scam as Apple do not have my new phone number please tell if is or not thanks

Hello JesyLA,


You will never recieve sms notifications from Apple, also they will never use a shortened link thru a 3rd party. The best steps to take are to, change your account password, and block that phone number.
