Removing OS X El Capitan sign-in screen

Is there an easy way to remove the login screen so that the computer just boots to the desktop when turned on?

Thank you for your time.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

This all depends on what you mean by "easy". For some, this will be easy. For others, not easy at all.

Please keep in mind that if you do this, and someone else ever has your laptop or desktop, they will be able to see everything on your Mac.

On your Mac......

Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)

Open Users & Groups

Click the lock to make changes, which will require your admin password

Make sure that you are the current user

Click Login Options at the bottom of panel on the left

User uploaded file

On the right side of the window, change the setting for Automatic Login from Off to your User Name

Enter your admin password again

Click the lock to save the new settings

Restart your Mac
