Battery % stuck, won't work without AC power
I have a 2009 Macbook Pro with a Lizone battery installed that had been working perfectly fine for the last two months until today. Please read the rest of the post before claiming the third party battery is the problem.
So earlier today I was using my laptop when I accidentally unplugged the magsafe and the laptop shut off instantly. I plugged the magsafe in, the LED stayed green, and five of the side battery indicator LEDs lit up so I unplugged the magsafe again and pressed the battery indicator with no result. I replugged the magsafe in and booted her up and the battery was stuck at 59% and not charging. I reset the SMC and PRAM, removed the battery multiple times, and booted with just AC power, all to no avail. Running
ioreg -l | grep -i capacity
gave the result:
| | "MaxCapacity" = 6027
| | "CurrentCapacity" = 3571
| | "LegacyBatteryInfo" = {"Amperage"=0,"Flags"=5,"Capacity"=6027,"Current"=3571,"Voltage"=11607,"Cycle Count"=29}
| | "DesignCapacity" = 6000
Throughout all these various boots (except when it was just AC power) the battery stayed at 59% and the five LEDs lit up. I'll try running the AHT later on to see if maybe that pinpoints the problem. Any help would be much appreciated!
