My macbook pro 15 inch mid 2010 was charging last night. When I woke up, it was only on 20 percent. Now it says not charging. I installed CoconutBattery and it says my charger is using 18W. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Try holding the option key and clicking on the battery icon, it will give you the condition of the battery. If you've had this since 2010 and the battery has not be replaced yet, it isn't anything completely out of the ordinary as lithium-ion batteries due have a lifespan.
You could also try looking up the amount of charge cycles the battery has by:
1) Click in the top left corner, click about this mac
2) Click System Report.../System Information
3) On the left hand pane, look for power, click on it
4) Look for Battery Information: Health Information: Cycle Count
Alternatively you could also try using another adapter if you have one lying around. It could just be your adapter, usually a very faint light emitting from the magsafe adapter would be an indicator.
