How do I attach my electric piano to the Logic programmme

I have a Yamaha clavinova attached to A Focusrite Scarlett2i4 and I'm working on Logic Pro X. I obviously want to use the clavinova to produce sound tracks in the Logic programme. How do I match the interface my piano is plugged into with the input track in the programme.

In the mixer click on the input button on your selected audio track.

You'll get a drop down menu with all the inputs logic sees.

Select the one on your interface that the piano is connected to. Say input 1 on the Focusrite.

Click on input monitoring on the track and you should hear the piano and see the meter register a sound level.

Scorpii.

PS check in system preferences>sound that the Focusrite is the preferred audio input/output and not the system audio, otherwise you won't get any signal into or out of logic.

Hi Scorpio,

Many thanks for your help I did eventually find the 'mixer' and now have contact with the Logic screen. In all this my basic problem is finding areas on the screen and a guide, much as you get when you buy a new car, that states the mixer is here would be of great assistance. Is there such a beast as the latter?

Cheers,

BS

Or even the new manual:

plugins:

They are also downloadable for free as e-books from the Apple Store. And you can even access them from within the program, from the Help menu.

I prefer the online version, but that is because it is convenient to link to specific pages when answering questions here.
