Nano 6th generation start/pause button stuck

My nano 6th generation start/pause button is stuck. It still works well if I plug it, but not very practical! Went today to the Appel Store. I was told my ipod is now "vintage". I can't have it fixed, exchanged or anything else, except for a 10% rebate if I buy a new one from the store. I have a job to beleive that after only 4 years and 3 months I will have to put it on the bin.
