There are functions that are not included in Apple's photo.
I would prefer to buy specific plug-in rather then
buy and launch a separate application.

Photos for Mac does not support plug-ins but photo editing app extensions. If you buy applications that offer extensions, you can use them from the Edit panel in Photos.

The App Extensions are very specific and do not launch the host application. For example the "Noiseless" extension just acts like a very versatile noise filter. Or BeFunky Express offers support for touching up portraits - whitening teeth, skin smoothing. The Intensify extension will add filters to enhance the colors and the contrast in several ways. Essentially they are working like plug-ins and are dedicated to one task.
