What do you mean by "design capacity"?

It is normal that your design capacity drops over time. the battery just wears out over time (roughly 1000 cycles depending on your use of the battery).

then make an appointment at a genius store and see what they think of your battery performance. If it is any help my own battery dropped two percent in the first half year and another percent in the next 6 months.

What you are describing is not unusual. Will your battery last 1000 cycles? Maybe, but not likely. Note that Apple does not say it WILL last 1000 cycles, but the battery is designed to last UP TO 1000 cycles. Here is Apples advice on maximizing the useful life of your MBP battery:
