Why did the new ios 9.1 delete all my notes when it automatically updated? Its a real inconvenience as i used them daily..

Hi, My phone updated automatically today at work via WIFI to the ios 9.1 and i've gone into my m=notes which i use daily and theyre all gone and its all layed out differently. Is there a way to get them back? Has anyone else had this problem?
