Emptying the Trash problem

I'am unable to empty the Trash.

Getting a "error code -50".

I trashed backup folders from my TimeMachine backup hard disk.

I think this has to do with the problem.

Can someone tell me exactly what to do to eliminate this "error code -50" ?

I tried every steps suggested here on this forum (Terminal, etc.) to no avail.

Apple, please help...!

Does your 'all' include finding these links and checking them out?

I suspect you've been trying to remove some of your Time Machine back ups. Not a good idea without doing the necessary research first. Read about ways to solve Trash problems.

From the X LAB. Solving Trash Problems You can't empty the Trash or move a file to the Trash

http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/trash.html

Then, for clearing stubborn trash. Download Trash It! for Mac

My ultimate solution :

- Purchased the "Carbon Copy Cloner" app. ;

- Copied my entire "Startup Disk (Macintosh HD 1)" to a external hard drive (Mac Ext);

- Using "Disk Utility", erased and mounted my "Startup Disk (Macintosh HD 1)" again;

- Launched "Mac Ext) as my startup disk : Trash was EMPTY...!

- Using "Carbon Copy Cloner", copied "Mac Ext" back to "Macintosh HD 1";

- Launching "Macintosh HD 1" as my "Startup Disk" : Trash was EMPTY...!

Useful tips :

1/ never, never trash files/folders from your "Time Machine" backup to the Trash bin...

2/ Get the "Carbon Copy Cloner" app., it's only $39.99 (36,00 €)...😉😉
