iPad2 / iOS9 / How to Hide Keyboard while Using Wireless Keyboard

Hi,

Prior to iOS9, when I connected my Logitech wireless (bluetooth) keyboard, when I typed the iPad's on-screen keyboard would not display; I would have the entire screen to view my work. However, now (since a recent update) I can type with the keyboard, but the on-screen keyboard remains.

If I hide the on-screen keyboard (soft button on the lower right), then it no longer accepts input from my keyboard.

How do I both enable typing on a wireless keyboard (e.g. in Pages) and hide the on-screen keyboard?

Thanks!

iPad 2, iOS 9.1
