I just updated my IPhone 5s to iOS 9.1 and I am trying to sign in to send IMessages, but I keep getting an error message that reads "an error occurred during activation. Try again."
Any suggestions on what I can do to get this fixed?

Be sure you know Apple ID password in iCloud and reset all settings in: settings > general > reset > reset all settings (NOT content and settings - it´ll erase your device). You´ll loose all WiFi passwords, ringtones if you put some (you can re-attach them later on), you´ll loose passcode, restrictions passcode etc. But you´ll have all your data on iPhone afterwards.
