No Bluetooth DUN interface?

No Bluetooth DUN interface?

Hey, so I went to setup a Bluetooth DUN with my cell phone and I was surprised to find that the interface was missing from my 15 inch Mid 2015 MacBook Pro.

I tried to follow the guide at OS X El Capitan: Connect to the Internet using Bluetooth dial-up networking but when I got to Step 2:

" If Bluetooth DUN isn’t in the list, click the Add button , click the Interface pop-up menu, then choose Bluetooth DUN. "

There is no "Bluetooth DUN" interface in the list. Any suggestions?

Did you pair your phone before looking for the DUN option?

Do you have cellular data enabled on your phone? If so, I would recommend the PAN option. OS X Yosemite: Connect to the Internet with a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone

My phone is paired with my Mac and there is still no Bluetooth DUN interface in the menu. Also my phone does not support Bluetooth PAN.

Which phone do you have, which OS is it running, and what version of that OS is it using?

Android phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 4) using PDAnet which utilizes Bluetooth DUN.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 does support PAN.

Is there a specific reason that you are using PDAnet?

My carrier has restricted the PAN & Hotspot functionality.

Yes, the thing is that after pairing I am never prompted to set up the DUN connection.

I never see the screen after "Attempting to Pair" with the PIN number. That screen that says "Phone Type" and other options is never presented to me.
