iPhone NOT syncing calendars

I plug in iPhone 6. There is a supposed automatic backup of iPhone data into the computer. When I click the sync bottom at bottom right of iTunes ... there is a note that says iTunes is syncing the calendars. I also see a note that says it's going through a 4 step process.

When I open iCal ... I don't see any of the recent inputs that are in the iPhone. The syncing was working fine before I installed El Capitan. Just wondering if there is something I'm now overlooking?
