passcode and touch id issues

i just got the new iphone 6s, and i've set up my four digit passcode and my touch id. but if i don't use the phone for a few minutes, and i let the screen go dark, as soon as i press the home button to light it back up - it immediately unlocks the phone. doesn't ask for the touch id or the pass code. it doesn't even give me the option to slid to open. as soon as i press the home button it just skips it and opens up my home screen.

has anyone else had that happen to them? is this something i can fix?

Mikmik,

The Touch ID is lightening fast using the 6s. It is just responding to your biometrics. Try depressing the home button with an unregistered finger.

Edit: Use the On/Off, Sleep/Wake button to access the screen without activating the unlock screen.

IF you are using one of your registered fingers or thumbs (ones you set up for fingerprint recognition) then that is exactly how it is supposed to work. Pressing the home button with a registered finger instantly unlocks the device and opens the home screen (or last open app if you let it go to sleep with an app open and active).
