iTunes won't let me change my song info (artist, album name, track number)

I keep trying to change my artist name, album name and track number for a couple of my cds in my iTunes library and as soon as the song plays, it changes back to what it was before I changed it. It is SOOO frustrating! If you know why, let me know!!

Try this and see if it works. Select the song, under the Advance menu item (ok I am using version 6 under Mac OS, but might be the same for you), pick "Convert ID3 Tags..."
Click on the box to change the "ID3 tag version" and try a different version. "None" is probably the best bet. Then exit and try to edit the stuff again, play the track and see if the info now sticks.
