When I connect my Apple TV (4) to my TV the sound from my Soundbar cuts out when still watching tv. Is there any settings within Apple TV to stop this?

the Soundbar connects to the tv (both Panasonic) via HDMI ARC and works fine until the Apple TV is connected. The sound through the Soundbar completly cuts out. Is there a setting within the ATV menu to stop this?
