Time Machine / FileVault Question

Today I bought a new MacBook Pro, and migrated my settings and data from my old MacBook Pro using Migration Assistant and an external Time Machine hard drive. Upon completion, FileVault automatically began encrypting my new internal hard drive.

The problem is upon completion of encryption I did not receive the fail safe encryption key in case I forget my password or some other unforeseen calamity. Does that mean that the encryption key is the same, given that it was encrypting based on the settings from my old MacBook Pro?
