Q: i need to update my ipod 8gb from ios 6 to 7 but the ipod says it's up to date. can i force it to update or is it too old? i have no idea what generation it is.

my daughter has an ipod touch. it's on the older side. the ios is 6.1.6 and all the apps say they need ios 7 or higher to be downloaded. how can I force the update to 7 when the device is saying it's up to date?

An iPod touch running 6.1.6 is a fourth generation model and too old for iOS 7 or above. If desired, download the current version of those applications to a computer or newer iOS device, click here, and try following the instructions.
