bluetooth not working with certain apps

I am on an iPad Air on the most recent iOS (9.1), with 32 GB storage. For some reason, Bluetooth is not working in certain applications, such as Addictive Synth, miniSynth 2, and FIro. It works on most other applications, though. Using an AUX cord or connectable headphones seems to fix this.

I know that Bluetooth devices tend to cause a bit of latency and overtake the normal latency settings on my device- I suspect this is the reason? If so, why is that causing sound in other apps to not play?
