How can I get my email account to stop updating with old and deleted messages? I have turned off the celluar data and it is still happening. Please help as it is draining my battery and data.

Specifically -
Remove the affected email account from your device with these steps:
- Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
- Tap the email account.
- Tap Delete Account.
