moving pictures from ipod touch 4 to 5 without losing them

i just got my new ipod touch 5 and i want to transfer from my old 4. i looked online for easy ways to move the pictures ,but none of them seem easy. why wouldn't apple just transfer them along with my other information. why make it difficult? it's like they don't understand i want my pictures.
