The selected movie won’t play on your display mrssage

I just started to receive the following message once I ungraded to El Capitan:

The selected movie won’t play on your display.

This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection).

All of my movies played fine prior to the upgrade. How do I resolve this issue. I have a macbook pro with 15inch Retina display.
