Q: Past purchased songs no longer in purchased area to redownload, I have to rebuy the songs

i just turned my wifi off and went to play songs in my iTunes music app (iPad 1, iOS 7), all music was gone. I redownload most of my songs, more recent downloads (from this year). But past downloaded songs are missing and says I have to repurchase them. Is there a way I can get them back without spending more money? Or suggestions of ways to get them back in general?

thanks.

    Greetings Chanzy,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It seems like you want to download past purchases, but some of them are missing. I would recommend you read this article, it may be able to help troubleshoot the issue.

Download your past purchases - Apple Support

    1. Sign in with the Apple ID that you used for the original purchase. Use these steps to see which Apple ID you used to download an item.
    2. Check to see if the purchases you're looking for are hidden. If your purchases are hidden, you might not see them even after you follow the steps below. Learn how to unhide purchases.
    3. See if the content is available for redownload. Previously purchased items might not be available if they're no longer on the iTunes Store. Also, make sure that you’re in a country where you can redownload items. If you changed your Apple ID from one country to another, you can’t download items you purchased in a previous country.

If you're a member of Apple Music, items that you've saved for offline use won't appear in your purchased section. Learn more about Apple Music.

    Take care

I'm having the same issue.  Complete albums I've purchased in the past suddenly gone and not letting me download unless I purchase again.  On my desktop version of it\Tunes as well as via my iPhone 6.  I've gone through Hidden Purchases (I have none), albums, songs, searched my HDD.  I am not a member of Apple Music.  These are albums I bought years ago, still available to purchase via iTunes.  It's as if iTunes plainly forgot I purchased them and wants more money.

I too am missing so many songs. I bought a bunch of songs forever ago, and since apple music, I haven't really had a need to go back and "take inventory." Since then however, I'm completely missing songs. I go to "manage my hidden purchases," and it says that nothing is hidden. The songs are still on iTunes. If i select "purchase" on a song I've already bought, it tells me that I've already bought it, and it offers to download automatically. Here's the thing, I can't rememeber all of my songs by name! And if they're not showing up as hidden...  Why are they treated like songs I've never purchased.
