Every time I open the iTunes store it freezes

Hi,


Every time I launch the iTunes Store on my macbook air, the entire program freezes and I have to force quit. I can use iTunes music and all other aspects of the program without an issue but as soon as I try to launch the store to download a movie or tv show etc. it freezes, the rainbow wheel appears and I have to force the program to shut.


It's the latest version (12.3.1.2.3) of iTunes, if that helps. I have tried closing the program and restarting it, I've tried to uninstall it from my mac to reinstall but mac won't let me as it is "required" by OS X.


Any help would be so appreciated!

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
