Does anyone know why in my "Find My Friends" app my options would be grayed out?

I have been trying to use the Find My Friends app on my Apple device and when I go to the app and try to share my location, all the options are in gray print instead of black print and I'm just curious as to why that is. If anyone has any input to share it would be appreciated, Thank You in advance!!
