Mic too quiet in GarageBand but perfect in Mainstage

using almost unplugged preset in mainstage but can't seem to get that mic volume in GarageBand or logic

tried compressor plugins ect but it still sounds too quiet even with track volume maxed

cant turn 2i2 preamp up any further without clipping

any ideas?
