How do I move Logic Pro X instrument/sample library to an external hard drive?

Yes, I've been trying to figure this out the past couple of days. I have the sample libraries on an external drive, but it keeps asking me to download audio every time I open the app. Any luck with this since November?

I have a similar question about moving where to store plug ins audio file templates projects etc etc.I am new to logic pro and I can't seem to find an option to store majority if not all my logic files on an external disc like I do for iTunes in order to save space on my laptop ?II also had problem about having to download audio every time I opened app. would appreciate your help / knowledge please if you have or find a solution,

You shouldn't move all of the folders to an external drive. Just the virtual instruments and loops. There are about 3 folders that hold almost 40gb. The rest of the folders aren't that big. Check out those links I posted. You should be able to get it to work on your system.
