Text and mail the same on two different iPhones

Aloha, I can't figure this one out. My wife and I have two different iPhones. I have the 6s and my wife has a 5. We both have different carriers, and separate .mac accounts. Both phones are backed up thru iTunes on the same iMac. Here's the problem. We both get the same messages and mail no matter who sends them, or to whom they are sent. Is there a fix for this so that we can get the texts or mail sent to just one of us? Mahalo for any suggestions/tips
