Using 'X' to close one tab sometimes closes two tabs

Since upgrading to Safari 9.1, when x-ing out of a tab, it will sometimes close itself and then close the very next tab, as well. At first, I thought it was my mouse, but I switched it out and the same problem still occurs. Anyone else having this issue?
