im trying to reset my iPhone using iTunes, when it start downloading updates it suddenly stop and shows a message on itunes window telling me i cant reset my iphone because its locked with a passcode and it requires a passcode to be unlocked and reset.
how can i fix this!?

Ask the owner of the phone for the passcode.
i am the owner but forgot the passcode!
Is it the screen unlock passcode? If it is, see: If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support
If it is your iCloud password start with https://iforgot.apple.com.
yes its the screen, the message is iPhone is disabled try in 60 minutes. i went through "erase your device with recovery mode" using itunes but when instaling the new update itunes shows a message telling me i cant reset iphone because its locked with passcode!! and i forgot my passcode how can you help ?
Yes, follow the instructions in the first link in my previous post. Read them carefully, and follow them exactly.
