XIO: fatal IO error 35 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server

I installed XQuartz 2.7.8 (xorg-server 1.16.4) on my new Mac that runs Mac OS 10.10.5

When I plot something with GPL Ghostscript 9.16 (2015-03-30) I get the figure, but after I quit I get the following error message:

XIO: fatal IO error 35 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server "/private/tmp/com.apple.launchd.4iNZztnUlT/org.macosforge.xquartz:0"

after 55 requests (55 known processed) with 1 events remaining.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this?
