uconnect device not available

I recently purchased a used Dodge Grand Caravan 2008 with Uconnect for my phone and the little pigtail in the glove box for my iPod. When I try to connect the iPod, the screen reads "UCI intializing," followed by "device not available." Can anyone help? My iPod is a 4th gen nano.
