iphone6 apple hang

just purchased an iPhone 6

it started to do an update but has stayed on the update screen for at least 5hrs and the update bar has moved about 3mm

So I did a soft reset but again I looked at the progress bar and it only has moved approx. 3mm

iTunes picks the phone up but nothing happens on the screen

took it to O2 shop they said it had apple hang is there any way to get the phone booted up

phone is one day old.
