5C no display, frequent vibration on plug-in, failed restore

I have a 5C 16GB with a cracked screen (vertical, top to bottom). All the same, it had been working fine, but today, suddenly, it lost all display functionality. I tried plugging my phone into my computer, but when I did the phone started episodic vibration, once about every 10 seconds. This also occurred when I plugged the phone into a wall outlet. The phone does not vibrate when it's not plugged into a power source.

I was able to back up the phone and attempted to perform a restore of the iOS, but got an error during restore saying that it could not be completed.

Thoughts on the problem here? Just replace the cracked screen, or is the problem more serious?
