First keystone sometimes missed

In the last week or so I've noticed that the first keystroke in a window or search box will be missed if it hasn't been used in a while. It has twice just in typing to here. Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm running 10.11.1 El Capitan on a Late 2013 27-inch iMac, 3.5 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB DDR3.

I'm using a wired Apple keyboard that came with the iMac, it is connected to its own USB port on the iMac.

Is it happening if you use another browser?

Yes, I've seen it in Firefox as well. I've also seen in the Mail app.

I was able to solve my problem by moving the wireless receiver for my logitech mouse from the keyboard USB to my USB hub. I saw a tip somewhere that suggested that the keyboard was competing for bandwidth with another device so I decided to move the USB receiver.
