As a wild guess you can try connecting your phone using USB and restarting the iPhone while it is connected

My iPhone is shown in Photos, but no photos. Just a white screen. I connect my iPad, and the same happens. I left my iPhone connected for two hours, and nothing. Any advice?
yes as I posted

Thanks. I did not have anything more to report regarding this issue. But, your suggestion of plugging in with USB as I had before and restarting the iPhone (which I had not done) worked. Don't understand why but, as Impossible indicated the new Photos app did not register the photos on my iPhone although it knew my iPhone was connected. Thanks so much for the help!!!

I appreciate the suggestions. I restarted my MacBook with the phone connected and Photos started showing the pictures in my iPhone. Very weird. My iPad had the same issue, after restarting with the iPhone connected the iPad just worked.
