My photos are taking DAYS to sync to iCloud

I have the iPhone 6+ and the Mac with OS X and while my photos do sync to my iCloud, it takes DAYS! For example, today is 11/28, and the last photo uploaded is 11/23. Even though at the bottom of the photo stream it states the last update was "just now". Auto uploading is turned on, on both the Mac, and my phone.
