“Downloads” can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found.

This message keeps appearing when i try to access downloads through finder. I can still access downloads through the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I guess when you say accessing through the Finder, you mean by clicking on your Mac HD, then clicking to try to open the Downloads folder?

If you single-click to highlight "Downloads," and get Info, What does it say for "where" and what does it say for permissions for "Me?"
