how can I access the information on my iphone backup?

I backed up my iPhone 4 on itunes. My iPhone is broken. I need to access the information on the backup, i.e. my contacts, notes, etc., but I do not have a new iphone to restore to. Is there any way to see the information from my backup file?

iPhone 4S, iOS 8.4.1

Welcome to the Apple Community.

You can only use the back up file to restore to a new device, you cannot access individual files within a back up.

You can however access your contacts, calendars. mail, notes, reminders, photos and iCloud drive documents at iCloud.com on a computer.
