Web sites saying safari is not the latest version but it is?

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

What version of Safari are you currently using? To find out, go up to Safari --> About Safari. When I do it, it tells me I'm using version 9.0.1, which is the most recent release.

Ive just reinstalled el Capitan 3 times still the apple support web site and amazon say Its not supported & tells me to update to new version. which I've got.

Something not right..!!
