iBooks won't open

MY iPad mini is updated to ios 9.1 running iBooks 4. I am not able to open the books to read but they all say downloaded next to them. I have not updated my other I pad and I can read them with no issues So I feel this issue is with the iOS update and iBook version but don't know how to fix.

Hi Anna,


If you are having issues with being unable to open any books in your iBooks app on your iPad, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.

First, quit all running applications and test again -

Force an app to close in iOS

Next, I would try restarting the iPad -

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Hi Brett… it’s not that the app is unresponsive, I tap on the book icon and it pops up like a book I want to buy but won’t open from there. I”ve already closed the app and turned the iPad off. As I stated in my prior email on my iPad 2 which I did NOT update to iOS 9 the books open just fine. Just my iPad Mini that I upgraded to iOS 9 won’t allow the books to open.
