cables, why are there so fragile and expensive????

Yes l heve one iphone 5 , and at least with 6 months more or less l have to bay one new cable , because it doesn´t works good, take a lot of time to charge my fone , and them a little few days it stops for ever to work, Why it is so fragile and expensive??????
