Trying to reinstall Brother wifi printer but nothing comes up when I type it in

My Mac, which printed OK yesterday, said my printer was not connected today. I followed online Apple advice and deleted the printer in 'printers and scanners' then tried to reinstall. I type in the printer (Brother DCP etc) but then .....nothing. It obviously still cannot detect it.

Tried turning Mac off and on, and printer off and on. P{printer says it has a good wifi signal

Please first Reset Printing System and once you have done that restart the computer in Safe Mode and finally re-install the printer using OS X El Capitan: Add or remove a printer. You did not state what version of OS X is installed on the computer so we are left guessing if your computer is up-to-date.
