Macbook Pro 13' - logic board replacement

Hi there,

I bought myself an Mackbook Pro ( model late 2011) and it has not bee working properly. It turned off spontaneously a few times. And last time it happened i took it to an apple retail store for orientation. I was told I would have to replace the Logic Board, and it would cost more then a brand new Macbook Pro for the repair.

I did a research on the internet, and for my surprise I found out that there was a RECALL for this same late 2011 model.

Does anybody know about this recall?

There is a replacement program for 15" and 17" 2011 MBPs, NOT for 13" MBPs.

I suggest that you look on the Internet for a functional logic board for your MBP and install it yourself. Good place to search are iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com. They also have detailed instructions on the installation process.

Ciao.
