Charge the Apple Pencil with the Siri Remote

I'm not entirely sure that this question should be here but since the Apple Pencil is exclusive to the ipad pro i'm posting here.

Isn't supposed that i can charge my apple pencil with "any" lightning connector?

shouldn't that include the Siri Remote?

I mean, maybe i'm crazy, but wouldn't it be too crazy to be seeking for some juice and your ipad is low on battery and say, hey, i've got the siri remote in my backpack, i could squeeze some juice out of it.

But it seems it is not possible.

Should this be a firmware problem? or should this be permanently impossible?
