Is there a way to delete photos from my phone but have them saved on iCloud or on my Mac?

I'm out of storage on my iPhone 5s (most recent software update) and most of that space is taken up by pictures. Is there a way to delete them off of my phone but still have them saved somewhere like on iCloud or on my laptop?

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.1

No. If you delete them off your iPhone, they'll be subsequently deleted from iCloud as well. If they're taking up too much space on your iPhone, you can use the 'Optimize iPhone Storage'. This option reduces their size/quality on the iPhone but keeps the originals in iCloud.
