Imported CD, won't let me move onto my iPhone

I recently imported a CD into my library, and had no problem importing the songs. I then tried to drag the Cd onto my iPhone and it would not let me put it on my phone. I then changed the settings to where I can manually manage my music. It would then let me drag the CD onto my phone, but a message would pop up after reading "Some files were not copied to the iPhone because iTunes Match is enabled on this iPhone." I have never subscribed to iTunes Match, so I have no idea why I can't add the imported CD to my phone
