Keyboard keys don't turn grey when tapped on iPad Pro

i recently upgraded from a 3rd gen iPad to the Pro. On my old iPad when typing on the on screen keyboard the individual keys would go from white to grey as you tapped. Just a visual confirmation of what key was pressed.

Tthe Pro doesn't do this on the letter keys. The already grey keys at each side like shift, return, tab, delete etc will go from grey to white as you tap. I want this functionality back on the letter/number keys as well. I can't find anything in the settings for this however. Am I missing something?
