Macbook Air - Is it good for Video Editing ?

Hi There,

I know the question has been asked a million and on times, but I am planning on getting a Macbook air, with upgrades so it has

2.2GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz
Intel HD Graphics 6000
4GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM
256GB PCIe-based Flash Storage
Backlit Keyboard (British) & User's Guide (English)
Accessory Kit

I am also planning on purchasing an external hardrive for video files.

I'm just curious would the upgrad in specs be enough to edit and export >8 minute long youtube style videos?

I'm not apposed to buying a Macbook pro but purly for convenience a Macbook Air would be my preference.

Would love some guidence

I Have a Macbook Air 2012 model with lower specs. Video editing works fine even for larger projects. I edit footage up to 40mins long with no issues. I would suggest not worrying about upping the proccessor because you simply wont need that extra power.

Kick that memory up to 8GB. Neither OS X or third-party applications will get smaller in the future. The hardware (including GPU) requirements for that video editing application will determine if you have sufficient horsepower in a new MBA for the task. Read before you leap.
